- "Reading" images carefully, including the context in which they are presented
- Evaluating the carefully chosen image that adjoins a news story
- Understanding the inner-workings of print and video advertisements, including methods of persuasion
- Example of class material: Dove Commercial - "No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted..."
- Learning to use effective balance of text and images in PowerPoint, Prezi, or Google Presentations
- Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of different platforms (ie. Is Facebook really the best place to engage in serious political dialogue?)
- Knowing the different tools available
- Producing different media
- Student film

- Developing ease of use with laptops and iPads
- Learning widely used apps and programs with educational purposes
- Learning a variety of presentation platforms
